Meet Nancy!
Nancy has been with South Coast Girls Walk since day one and is proud to be known as an "original," an "OG," or an "old girl” (her words, not ours!).
When she discovered the group at age 65, she was determined to make it an epic year filled with new places and adventures. While she joined hoping to explore more of the South Coast—a goal she continues to pursue—she ultimately found a community of friends she didn't realize she needed at this stage in her life.
Nancy notes that South Coast Girls Walk has created a community where women lift one another up. Step by step, the group gathers to share their stories; in listening to each other, they have laughed, cried, and ultimately discovered that this is real.
Through this journey, Nancy has experienced personal growth and has frequently ventured outside her comfort zone. She travels across the region for these women, bakes cookies with them, and celebrates their milestones, fostering a sense of connection she never would have known if not for those she now calls her friends.
She is thrilled to serve as an ambassador for SCGW, viewing it as the perfect way to pay it forward. She looks forward to a year of helping more women find exactly what she and her fellow walkers have discovered: community, strength, new friendships, and joy.
Over the last year, Nancy has been one of the cornerstones of this community, consistently going out of her way to find and welcome new members. So much so that we joke she needs a “hello my name is” tag on all of her clothes.
