South Coast Girls Walk is deeply committed to community impact, viewing every step taken together as an opportunity to support the region we call home. Our mission of giving back is rooted in the belief that when our community moves together, we can create meaningful, sustainable support for local institutions and the neighbors who need it most.

Through collaborative initiatives, such as our community walks that highlight and uplift local businesses, and our active coordination of donations for organizations in our area, we strive to turn our collective energy into tangible resources for the South Coast.

As we transition into a non-profit organization, we are focused on scaling this impact, ensuring that our growth directly translates into increased support for local causes and continued investment in the vitality of our neighborhoods.

Walking for a Cause

While most of our community walks are completely free to attend, we dedicate a few special walks each year to supporting causes close to our hearts. These initiatives are often born from our community members reaching out and sharing the local organizations that are making a meaningful difference in their lives. Whether through a registration fee or optional donations, these events have allowed us to raise thousands of dollars for local groups that provide essential support to those in need.

S.H.E Strides

South Coast Girls Walk was incredibly honored to participate in The Women's Center’s S.H.E. Strides 5K to support survivors of domestic violence. We are so proud to share that our group showed up in force to stand in solidarity for this amazing cause, which helps raise crucial funds to ensure women in our community have resources and safe spaces when they are in dire circumstances. It was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we move together, helping to turn our collective strides into a message of hope and empowerment.

Walk for Hunger

We were incredibly honored to channel the collective energy of South Coast Girls Walk into this year’s Walk for Hunger. We are so proud to share that our group showed up in force, bringing the largest turnout that our local chapter of this amazing cause has ever seen! Together, we were able to raise $1,200 to support their vital work, turning our strides into meaningful, life-changing support for neighbors facing food insecurity.

Bi-Annual Clothing Swap

Refresh Your Wardrobe, Empower Our Community

Our bi-annual clothing swap is more than just a closet clean-out—it’s a powerful movement of community care and sustainability. We invite our community members to refresh their wardrobe by trading in pieces they no longer wear for "new-to-you" finds. It is a fantastic way to embrace conscious fashion.

The impact of this initiative extends far beyond our swap racks. Once the event concludes, all remaining items are donated directly to local causes that provide clothing and essential supplies to women in need, entirely free of charge. At our first event we were able to collect 36 bags of clothing and essentials for women in need in our community.
